Acupunctureis an ancient Chinese medical system using sterile, hair-thin needles to stimulate nerves and improve circulation of blood and qi (or energy, pronounced chee) in order to alleviate pain or improve health.

Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, and other treatment modalities we use, are effective, safe, natural, drug free approaches to your health concerns.

Cupping:the use of suction along meridians or sore muscles. Cupping strongly increases blood flow to the area treated.  Helpful for treating lung congestion.  Cupping can be stationary or sliding. This is not painful, but can leave circular red areas or bruises.

Gua Sha : a stimulating rubbing of the skin with a rounded horn or jade tool This is not painful, but does leave red marks (called sha) or bruises on the skin. Very useful in treating long standing pain.

Moxa or Moxabustion: warming of acupuncture points or meridians with smoldering herbs.  Traditionally used to turn a malpositioned fetus.

Tui Na: bodywork or massage which incorporates the acupuncture points and meridians. Used for treating infants and children as well as adults.

Only Licensed Acupuncturists are well trained in the safe and effective use of acupuncture. If someone says they are performing trigger point needling or dry needling, they have little or no training in acupuncture and pose a risk to the public.
